Mrs. Esther Caroline Hickox, 71, 603 Tenth Street, in Monett, passed away at 12:22 a.m. today at the St. Vincent's Hospital following an illness of three months.
Born March 9, 1897, in Lawrence, Kansas, she had been a resident of Monett since July, 1964, moving here from Rawlins, Wyoming. She was a member of the Lutheran Church in Lawrence, Kansas.
Surviving are her husband, William Hickox, whom she married June 17, 1925, in Ottawa, Kansas; three sons, Max Hickox of Westminster, Colorado, Rex Hickox of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Lt. (jg) Gary Hickox of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two brothers, Edgar Anderson of Ottawa, Kansas, and Karl Anderson of Chula Vista, California; two sisters, Miss Olga Anderson of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Ethel Gerstenberger of Byers, Colorado; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be under the direction of Mercer Funeral Home.
