Franz E. Anderson
Franz Edgar Anderson, 90, 4101 S.W. Martin Drive, formerly of Centropolis, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, at a Topeka retirement home.
Mr. Anderson was a farmer and stockman in the Centropolis community before he retired. He was an Army veteran of world War I.
He was born March 10, 1894, at Vinland, the son of John Alfred and Cristina Eckman Anderson. He lived in Douglas and Franklin counties all his lie.
Mr. Anderson was a member of Warren Black Post No. 60 of the American Legion at Ottawa.
He was married to Helen Louise Sands May 19, 1920, at Centropolis. She died Sept. 28, 1979. A son, Delbert Kenneth Anderson, died June 9, 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jean Holcomb, Olathe; three sons, Robert D. Anderson, Pomona, Glen Anderson, Topeka and Alan Anderson, Kirkwood, Mo.; a sister, Olga Anderson, Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, northwest o Centropolis.
