James Conroy, living near McCool died Thursday, October 31, after a lingering illness with cancer of the throat. Mr. Conroy was a pioneer settler, residing for a number of years near Fairmont. His age at the time of his death was about fifty-nine years.
Funeral services were held from the Fairmont Catholic church Monday morning. Solemn requiem mass by three priests was celebrated with which Rev. Father Healy of Grafton assisted. Burial was in the Fairmont cemetery. The deceased leaves a wife and grown family.
