Mrs. Conroy was born February 19, 1862, in Appanoose county, Iowa; hence lived to the age of fifty-one years, eight months and twenty-five days. In 1870 she came to york county with her parents, Hammond and Rachel Ellis, and was married to James Conroy, February 9, 1883. To this union seven children were born; bring four daughters and three sons. Deceased leaves four brothers and five sisters: Charles, Harlan, Jesse and John Ellis, Mrs. F.M. Churchill, Mrs. C.B. Barker, Mrs. Warren Price and Mrs. Frank Russell, all of McCool Junction, and Mrs. Hugh Armstrong, of Gordon, Nebraska.
Mrs. Conroy was a member of the Royal Neighbor and Degree of Honor lodges of McCool Junction.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairmont Catholic church, under the direction of Evergreen Camp, Royal Neighbors of America No. 427, of which deceased was a member. Solemn requeim mass was held by Father McKenna of Aurora, assisted by Fathers Healy of Grafton and McDonald of Exeter, and interment made in the Fairmont Catholic cemetery.
