He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Gaylon Brooks and Elsie Alderman, Petersburg; Orby Martin Alderman, Woodlawn; Carlos Edgar and Brenda Alderman, Vinton; daughters and son-in-law, Guilda Nester, Laurel Fork; Wanda Mullins, Hillsville; Velma and Van Nester, Christiansburg; sisters, Zelda Parnell, Austinville; Marie Wheeling, Richmond; Oleta Gravley, Draper; Docie Belle Newman, Austinville; Freida Gallimore, Galax; Nellie Gardner Shepherd, Pulaski; brother, Maynard Alderman, Austinville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be April 6, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Vaughan - Guynn - McGrady Chapel in Hillsville. Mr. Nelson Gallimore will officiate. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery.
Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Twin County Hospice at 308 S. Main Street, Galax, VA 24333.
