OBITUARY

Funeral services for Emma SCHNEIDER, 90 year old Arnett resident, were held Friday, July 16, at 2 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church at Shattuck. Pastor Gary McClellan officiated. Interment was in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lipscomb, Texas, under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck. Mrs. SCHNEIDER died Wednesday, July 14, at the Vici Nursing Home.

Emma Katherine SCHNEIDER was born March 2, 1909 at Goodwin, Oklahoma, to Christian and Christiana (Koch) BABITZKE. She was raised at Lipscomb where she attended a country school. On December 4, 1928, she married Theodore SCHNEIDER at Lipscomb and they lived on a farm near Arnett, until moving to Arnett in 1972.

She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Shattuck. Emma loved to cook and was known for her after church meals. She also enjoyed gardening, going to the senior citizens center and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1977, her daughter, Laura, an infant son, her parents, a sister, Dollie LONGHOFER and five brothers, Joke, Bert, Ben, T. C. and Paul.

Emma is survived by a daughter and her husband, Gertrude and Frank KNOWLES, of Arnett; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kenny and Carolyn KNOWLES, of Arnett and Vacua and Rock MEAGER, of Lament, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, Brando KNOWLES and his wife, Shalt, of Granfield, Oklahoma, Rodney KNOWLES, of Arnett and Shari and Michael MEAGER, of Lament, Oklahoma; three brothers and their wives, Henry and Christina BABITZKE, of Spearman and Chris and Evelyn BABITZKE of Canadian, Valentine CHINLESS, of Lipscomb; two sisters, Anita ANTHONY of Amarillo and Erna GRAGERT, of Colorado Springs; a sister-in-law, Oilier BABITZKE, of Higgins and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
