Last Rites For Jake Babitzke
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Schneider and Mrs. Laura Miller attended funeral services for Jacob (Jake) Babitzke, 47, of Higgins held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in St. John's Lutheran Church at Lipscomb.
Rev. J. Bahnsen, pastor was in charge of the rites, and burial was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery under the direction of Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck.
Mr. Babitzke died at 2:35 a.m. Monday in Amarillo Osteopathic Hospital, where he had been a patient for three days under treatment for tetanus.
He was a farmer in the Higgins community.
He was born on June 20, 1911, in Oklahoma, and was a member of the Lutheran church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Babitzke; three sons, Dwane of Amarillo, and Delvin and Dennis, both of Higgins; a daughter, Mrs. Jolene Hightower of Amarillo; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Babitzke of Higgins; six brothers, T. C. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Bert, Henry and Christ, all of Canadian; Paul of Booker and Ben of Higgins; and five sisters, Mrs. Dollie Longhofer and Mrs. Valentine Schoenhals of Lipscomb, Mrs. Emma Schneider of Arnett, Mrs. Anita Schoenhals of Canadian and Mrs. Arna Beard of Plainview.∼Texas, Deaths
