(Obituary (Clarence (MO) Courier, Dec. 29, 1976)- Ruffis Herbert Bean, age 88, retired farmer of the Duncan's Bridge area, passed away Thursday morning, December 23, 1976, at 12:15 a.m. at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville, where he had been a patient for three days. Mr. Bean moved to Waynesville to be with his son about three years ago. He was born on April 5, 1888, in Monroe County, Mo., a son of the late Ruffis and Anna Holder Bean. On January 27, 1907, at Clarence, he was united in marriage to Susie Etta Barton. She preceded him in death in 1970. Mr. Bean is survived by his son, Lester Bean of Waynesville; and one brother, W. H. Bean of Moberly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Chester, and other relatives. He was a member of the Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church at Duncan's Bridge. Visitation was held Saturday evening, Dec. 25, 1976, at the Greening Funeral Home in Clarence where funeral services were Sunday, Dec. 26, 1976, at 2 p.m. Rev. Raymond Belfield, pastor of Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Phillips Cemetery, near Duncan's Bridge.
