Arthur C. "Ott" Stephens, 84, Orangeburg, S.C., died Friday evening, Oct. 15, 2010 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Mr. Stephens was born October 14, 1926, in Eli, Ky., a son of the late Cornelius Stephens and the late Sarah Flanagan Stephens.

He was retired after 28 years from Applied Engineering and was a member of Four Holes Baptist Church, a member for 57 years of Matamoras Masonic Lodge No. 374 in New Matamoras, Ohio, as was a Master Mason. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Peggy M. Stephens of Orangeburg, SC; daughter Bonnie S. Inabinet (Alan) of Cordova, S.C.; granddaughter Jeanie S. Sutton (Scott) of Columbia, S.C.; two grandsons, Maxcy L. Stroman (Becky) of Apex, N.C. and Stephen L. Stroman (Haley) of Edisto Beach; one brother Mack Stephens (Jean) of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; one sister Lacona Coffey of Russell Springs, Ky., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 18, 2010, at Four Holes Baptist Church, with Rev. Thomas McElhany. The Rev. Jim Parnell and the Rev. Benjamin Smoak officiating and burial was in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Russell Clemmer, Shane Inabinet, Art Klee, David Stephens, Tim Stephens, and Charles Smith. Honorary pallbearers were the Adult Five Sunday School class at Four Holes Baptist Church.
