Mattie Lynn Park, 83, died peacefully on October 20 2010, in Missouri City, Texas. Lynn was born to Hugo and Mattie Frank in Bellville, Texas, where she spent her early childhood years. Her family moved to Belen, New Mexico, when she was entering her teens and returned to live in Houston after her father's death in 1942. In 1946, Lynn married Eldee Park, Jr., and they resided in Houston. They had three daughters, Diane, Carol and Janice. Lynn and Eldee lived in Houston, Tucson, Salt Lake City and San Antonio before retiring to Sugar Land in 1988. They were married for 64 years until Eldee's passing on September 25, 2010. Lynn created a supportive and loving home for her family. She was a role model for her daughters, friends, and family. Despite many challenges, Lynn remained optimistic about life. She was a voracious reader, a creative chef, but mostly, Lynn was a gifted artist who won many awards for her paintings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Mattie Frank; her daughter, Janice Park; brother Don Frank; and by her beloved husband, Eldee Park. Lynn is survived by her Daughters, Diane Bailey and husband Bill and Carol Park; granddaughter, Kelsey Park Gray; grandson, Matt Binford and wife Ellen; brother, Sonny Frank and wife Gerry; and her sister Shirley Weidler and husband John. A Memorial Service for Lynn Park will be held at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home. 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, Texas on Sunday, October 24, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society; ww.cancer.org.
