SPRINGFIELD — The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield for Elray Joseph "Ray" Andrus of Springfield, who died Oct. 26 of congestive heart failure. He was 76.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Ashton, Idaho, to Joseph and Mary Higbee Andrus. He married Betty Grant on March 19, 1960, in Nampa, Idaho.

He served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. He worked as a ranch foreman, pack guide, horseman and millwright.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shauna DeGroot of Springfield; a son, Randy of Roseburg; a stepson, Rick Grant of Anchorage; a stepdaughter, Dixie Israel of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Alice Orme of Rexburg, Idaho, and Lois Grubb of Grant, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
