Cynthia Ann Spradling, wife of J. H. Spradling, was born 20Feb1832, & died 31Mar1883, aged 51 years, 1 month & 11 days.
She was married to J. H. Spradling 30Dec1849, & was the mother of 7 children, 5 sons & 2 daughters, all now living except her eldest son, John Francis, who died 25Nov1881. In 1855 she embraced religion, & joined the M. E. Church at this place during a revival meeting held by Rev. Oglesby. She was a kind affectionate companion & mother.
She was confined to her sick bed some 6 months. She was pleased when her religious friends visited her, she loved to talk on the subject of religion & have religious services in her room. She often expressed a desire to remain with her family if it was the will of God, but submitting His will she said she was ready to die, & gave her last counsel & advice to her husband respecting their children, & assured him that she was not afraid to die.
