Services were November 14 at the Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown for J. Orville Bailey, age 96, of Crawfordsville, formerly of Lizton and New Ross. He died November 11 at Culver Union Hospital in Crawfordsville. Rev. Raymond Duff officiated. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery. Born Feb. 17, 1899 in Lizton, he was a son of Edgar Sr. and Lora (Gibson) Bailey. He attended the Shockley Elementary School in Union Township. He married Elsie May Randol on Dec. 19, 1917 at Lebanon. She survives. Mr. Bailey was a farmer in Boone, Hendricks and Montgomery counties. Survivors in addition to his widow are two sons, Clyde Bailey of Indianapolis and Raymond Bailey of Crawfordsville; three daughters, Mildred Stoner of Indianapolis, Lucille Garner of Crawfordsville and Janice Campbell of Mooresville; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded.
