According to the Bible records Clell (Cyle) Bratton (Brattain) was born January 1, 1881. The Bible belonged to Hughie and Pearl (Justice) Johnson, both deceased. Clell or Cyle was a half-brother to Pearl Justice Johnson.

He was married first to Julia Derry, 16 Feb. 1901 in Anderson,Madison Co., Indiana. They were divorced around 1909 probably Vermilion Co., Illinois.

C.O. Brattain of 4506 Wisner Highway died at 0:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Bixby hospital where he had been admitted a few minutes earlier. He had been in failing health for three years.
Mr. Brattain was born Jan. 1, 1876 in Anderson, Ind., the son of William and Lucinda Goines Justice. He moved to Hillsdale in 1918 to Adrian in 1923. In 1924 he was married to Bertha Kelley of Hillsdale at Angola, Ind. Mr. Brattain was a foundry worker for a number of years, retiring six years ago.
Surviving Mr. Brattain are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Kelley, Mrs. Esther Spence of Grand Haven, Mich. and Mrs. Pauline Holcomb of Adrian; fours sons, Arthur, Howard and Clifford Kelley of Adrian and Louis Kelley of Lyons; and one brother, George Justice of Hoopeston, Ill. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Earnest and two sisters, Maude and Bessie.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Everiss Funeral Home with the Rev. Laurence Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Madison Center Cemetery.
