Mr. John Welch Bain 82, of Florence, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009.
Funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Westminister Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be John McKell, Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Dyersburg, TN. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home.
John is survived by his wife Mary Louise Bain, Florence, AL., daughter Mary (Jane) Blalock, son John Michael Bain, Buford, GA., sisters Billie Carolyn Wesson, Ripley, TN., Lottie Faye Walden, Gates, TN., brother Walker Neal Bain, Gates, TN., two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
John was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He loved to work at church and the Help Center. He was an avid gardener, and fisherman. He loved his family and was always there for them.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Iverson and Sara Ina Bain.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Smith and Charles Hendrix.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Help Center in Florence.
