Billie Carolyn Bain Wesson, 89, of Greenville, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior June 25, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville after suffering a stroke.

Mrs. Wesson was born July 28, 1928, in Dyer County to John I. and Sarah Ina (Welch) Bain.

She graduated from Haywood High School in 1946 and married Dalton Austin Wesson Jr. on December 29 of that year.

Her life centered around her husband, her children, and her church. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in the Toulon community until she moved to Greenville, SC, following her husband’s death in 2010. In Greenville she was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Mrs. James Gaston) of Americus, GA, and Anne (Mrs. Royce Short) of Greenville, SC; her sister, Faye (Mrs. Jack Walden) of Forked Deer; four grandchildren: Jim Gaston (Leah) of Franklin, NC, Wes Gaston (Mary Catherine) of Americus, GA, Katie Short of Lapeer, MI, and Angela Jeffcott (Tommy) of Layton, UT; and seven great-grandchildren, who were always able to make her smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers John Welch Bain and Neal Bain.

Visitation will be Sunday starting at 1:00 PM at Maranatha Baptist Church with the service following at 2:00 and burial afterward at Eureka Cemetery in Forked Deer.
