Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Kenneth Dwain Allred, age 84, passed away on October 23, 2010.

He was born on May 20, 1926 in Alfalfa, Caddo County, Oklahoma, to Clarence A. Allred and Ella Elvira Burleson Allred. Kenneth married Geneva June Myers in 1950. They were later divorced.

Ken served in the Air Force in his early 20's working as a bomber mechanic. After the Air Force he went to work for Soule Steel in California.

In 1988 he retired and moved to Holiday Shores, Arizona, where he met his wife Mickey Brenay. They were married on March 25, 1989 in Riviera, Arizona.

Ken was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on February 5, 1989. In 1990, Ken and Mickey moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma to be closer to Ken's family. On November 24, 1991, Ken and Mickey were sealed in the Dallas, Texas Temple for time and all eternity.

He served faithfully in numerous church callings. Among some of those he served as Executive Secretary in a Bishopric, as a Stake Missionary. He and Mickey served together on a Welfare Service Mission in the Bishop's Storehouse, a Service Mission in the Family History Center, a calling as Tour Guides at the ‘Old Rock Church', and as Ordinance Workers in the St. George Temple.

In his earlier years, Ken enjoyed square dancing, and later on in his life he did a lot of woodworking. He made many sets of wooden chairs for children, most of which were donated or given away. He was also an avid reader.

Ken is survived by his wife, Mickey (Esther) Brenay Allred, of Cedar City, UT; brother, Charles Truitt Allred (Marilyn), of OK; sister, Joyce Dean Allred Nance (Merrill), of OK; his sons, Douglas Dwain Allred, of CA, Denny Segler (Elaine), of NV, and Hardy Howell Segler Jr., Of NV; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brothers: Hoyt Franklin Allred (Ann) and Wilburn Everett Allred (Monta Ruth).

Ken will be very missed, and not forgotten by his family and friends for the good and kind man that he was.

His family would like to thank the hospice staff, Bonnie, Donna and Becky, who were always so efficient yet kind and caring during this difficult time. And also Dr. Hendrix and his assistant, Tanisha for their loving care of Ken during his illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Hillcrest LDS Ward Chapel located at 320 South 1925 West in Cedar City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary located at 190 North 300 West in Cedar City, Utah. On Friday, October 29, 2010 the viewing will be held at the Hillcrest LDS Church from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Interment will be in the Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
