Funeral services were held on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Foxhome Lutheran Church in Foxhome with Reverend John Andrews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 11 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment is in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls.
Alda Mae was born on January 9, 1923 in Andrea Township, rural Foxhome, to Charles and Alma (Waliin) Steiner. She was baptized and confirmed at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay, Minnesota.
Alda Mae grew up on the family farm in Andrea Township and attended grade school in Akron Township District #24 and Fergus Falls High School, graduating in i941. She then attended Minnesota State Teachers College in Moorhead,
Minnesota graduating in 1943 with an elementary teaching degree. She taught school in Everdell, Minnesota
from 1943-1945 and in Rothsay from 1945-1946.
On November 28, 1946 she married Donald Anderson of
Foxhome at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay. They made their home on the family farm two miles north of Foxhome. After raising her children she was employed at the 3 M Company in Wahpeton, North Dakota for nine years.
Alda Mae was a member of Foxhome Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, a 50-year member of Andera Ambitious Homemakers Club, a 4-H club leader, and a member of the advisory committee of Fergus Falls Community College. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, embroidery, reading and traveling with neighbors, friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grand children and great-grandchildren.
Alda Mae is survived by her children, Carolyn (Ron) LeClaire, Bemidji, MN, Linda (Jerome) Cronin, Cokato, MN, Diane (Steve) Cavazos, Foxhome, MN, Jim (Becky) Anderson, Omaha, NE and Mark (Anita) Anderson, Foxhome, MN; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a brother Robert Steiner, Rothsay, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald, brother, Daryl Steiner, and infant brother Calvin Steiner.
