Effie C. Merritt
Funeral services for Mrs. Effie C. Merritt of Minden will be Friday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. in the Rose-Neath Chapel with Revs. Paul Cassel and Raymond Henson officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. Merritt, a native of Mississippi, died Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Meadowview after an extended illness. She was 80.
She had lived in Minden most of her life, was a homemaker, and a member of the Sibley Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Raymond Walker, Minden; a stepson, George Merritt, Sibley; two stepdaughters, Minnie Preston, Minden, Nicie Poland, Sibley; one brother, Leonard C Cage, Heflin; 13 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
