Margaret Swan Bigham was the daughter of Robert Bigham and Margaret (Clark) Bigham. She married Jere D. Scott abt 1835 in Bedford Co., TN. The went to LaClede Co., MO in 1837 to be near other Scott family members.
In the fall of 1851 they went to Bell County, TX with other members of the Bigham family and lived in Tennessee Valley and were farmers.
Jere & Peggy had ten children: Jesse Guinn, Robert Marshal, John Wesley, Sophia C., Elihu Winfield, Samuel B. (died bef 1860), Margaret Anne, James Anthony, Joab(died bef 1870), & Nancy U.

Jesse Guinn Scott was in the Bell County Rovers and served Oct 5, 1859 to Jan 13, 1860 On the 1860 Census he is 24 yrs old,listed as a Texas Ranger, bn TN. He was in the CSA Co F, 6th TX Vol Infantry and died in a hospital in Benton, AR August 23, 1862.

Sophia C.Scott (FAG Mem#9912417) married Andrew Jackson Myers (FAG Mem#9114994) Aug 8, 1865 and they had eight children. They went to California before 1880. Andrew Jackson Myers' tombstone is inscribed "Founder of Oceanside in 1882"

Margaret Anne Scott married George Dallas Edmondson December 1, 1880. She died before 1889 and they had no children.

Nancy U. Scott married Charles Augustus LeFevre August 30, 1882 and she died abt 1889. They had a son,Ambrose D. Lefevre who is listed with his grandmother, Margaret (Bigham) Scott on the 1900 census.

Deed records indicate Margaret (Bigham) Scott died early 1900's. She was buried in Tennessee Valley and her grave was moved to Resthaven when the Belton dam was built. Her grave is unmarked.
