Bill Ryan, 88, of St Patrick, died Monday, December 28, 1998, in his home near St Patrick. Born Sept 1, 1910, in Lewis County Missouri, he was a son of William T and Anna Ahern Ryan. He married Mary F Logsdon May 29, 1935, at St Patrick. She preceded him in death Feb 2, 1997. Mr Ryan was a 1929 graduate of St Patrick School, and a member of the Shrine of St Patrick Catholic Church at St Patrick. He owned and operated a barber shop in Canton for 15 years. He attended Auction School in 1949, and held city and farm sales for 45 years. He owned the Kahoka Sale Co, from 1961-1987. He was a sign painter and avid card player, performed card tricks and sleight of hand for many years. Survivors include one son Ronald Ryan of St Patrick; one daughter Mary Lou Brennan of Hannibal; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas H Ryan, Ollie Ryan, and James Edward Ryan in infancy, two sisters, Nellie G Kirchner and Leoda Fellers. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec 30, at 2 p.m. at the Shrine of St Patrick Catholic Church at St Patrick, with Rev Tom Alber officiating. A prayer service was held Tuesday evening at Davis Funeral Home, Canton, with Brother John Francis Tyrrell officiating. Music was by Ellen Krueger, Cindy Wolbrink and Alisha Ludwick. Pallbearers were Matt Ryan, Pat Ryan, Chris Ryan, John Brennan, Alan Ludwick, Darrell Roseberry and Jeff Viehmeyer. Burial was in the St Patrick Cemetery, St Patrick. Memorials may be made to St Patrick Cemetery or Lewis County Health Department and left with Davis Funeral Home.
