Walter L. Allison
Lisbon - Walter L. Allison, 76, of 220 E. Chestnut St., died at 4:43 p.m. Saturday at the Pleasantview Nursing Home in Lisbon after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Lisbon, the son of Charles Allison and Bertha Smith Allison. A lifetime area resident, he was a purchasing agent for the former NRM Corp., retiring in 1982. He also had owned and operated the former Walt's Custard Stand in Lisbon. Mr. Allison was a member of the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of the New Lisbon Lodge 65 F & AM. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Hazel L. Frantz Allison, whom he married Nov. 12, 1953; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Wavelene) Arnold of Salem and Mrs. Terry (Laraine) Carman of Lisbon; and four grandchildren. A sister, Phyllis Pope, is deceased. Services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The New Lisbon Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
