Engelke Dirks Ammermann is the son of Dirk Engelkes Ammermann and Memmke Wubbena Polyman. He came to America August 25,1865 on the ship Laura with his parents and 4 siblings.In September 1870 he married Gretje Heddens. To this union were born 6 children. Engelke was named for his grandfather,Engelke Geerts.His name Engelke means "LITTLE ANGEL"
