W. D. Wubbe Dirks Ammermann is the son of Dirks Engelke Ammermann and Meemke Wubbena Polmann. He was born in Bunde Ostfriesland.
On April 26 1861 he married Trientje Freerks Petersen.
On April 28 1864 W.D.and Trientje and son Dirk arrived in New York City on the Ship Breman,and went to German Valley Illinois.
W.D. became a citizen on December 17 1872.
W.D. Helped to form the Holland Christian Reformed Church in Illinois .
W.D. and his family came to Renville Minnesota in the spring of 1887. Church service was held in the Ammermann home until a church was built. W. D. was also a land agent, He built his home 18 miles from Reneville which W D named this Rheiderland Twp . W. D. and Trientje were blessed with 10 children
7 of the children grew up and had families, 3 children died young and are buried in Illinois.
