Mr. and Mrs. Bloom, his nephew,' Robert Bloom, and his wife, also of Altona, and his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Don Schauer of Rudolph, O., left last Friday afternoon for a 10-day fishing trip to Canada. They arrived there Saturday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Schauer hat reservations at Tyson's Camp on Georgian Bay, Carling township, District of Perry Sound, Ontario, Can. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bloom and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bloom were unable to obtain reservations at Tyson's Camp so they rented a cabin on an island in Georgian Bay.

The family reports the following details regarding the tragic accident. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bloom and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bloom went out fishing in the early evening, each couple being in a different boat. They were trolling when Louis Bloom's fishing line became entangled in the outboard motor. He pulled the motor out of the boat, stood up and began unwrapping the fishing line from around the motor to around his wrist. This was about 9:30 p. m. It was still daylight. Mr. Bloom lost a his balance and fell into the water.

Mr. Bloom came to the surface a and his wife told him to grab hold of the boat. He made no effort to do so and told his wife to throw him one of the life preserver seat cushions. She did but he made no effort to grab it and sank out of sight. The mystery of the incident is that Mr. Bloom is a good swimmer.

Mrs. Bloom began screaming. Robert Bloom and his wife were some distance away and at first did not hear Mrs. Louis Bloom screaming. Mrs. Robert Bloom then thought she heard something and told her husband to shut off the motor. They then heard Mrs. Bloom's screams. Other boats had rushed to Mrs. Bloom's assistance and by the time Robert Blooms reached her she was already on shore and had fainted.

Dragging operations for Mr. Bloom's body were immediately started and were continued until 3 a. m. Monday. They were resumed at 6 a. m. and his body was found in nine feet of water at 8 a. m. The medical examiner reports that death was caused from drowning and there was no evidence that Mr. Bloom had suffered any kind of an attack.

Mr. Bloom was born July 19, 1904, in Altona, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bloom. He was married in January, 1948, to Louise Sobasky of Altona. He was previously married two times.
