STONE

George Thomas Stone, son of Malcome Everett and Florence White Stone, was born March 30, 1900, in Lucas County, Iowa and passed away April 2, 1981 at the age of 81 years and three days at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital. He spent all his life in Lucas County as a farmer and seed, wool and fur dealer.

On Nov. 13, 1926, he married Marguerite Louise Bergman, who preceded him in death in 1950. To this union were born three sons, Richard Thomas, Gerald Lee and James Edward, all of Lucas County.

He is survived by his three sons; granddaughters, Caren Lynne Krutsinger, Carolyn Lee Ingram and Helen Louise Stone; grandsons, Jerry Henderson Stone and Richard Thomas Stone II; great-grandchildren, Angela, Tracy and Susan Krutsinger, Amy and Scott Ingram, Jamie Stone and Matthew Endicott; a sister, Mrs. John (Nellie) Massman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mable Atwell, and two brothers, Edmond and Donald Stone.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, 1981, at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Haggard conducting. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery.
