R. B. Allen, 87, died late Tuesday night, September 26, after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer of the Brooklet community in Bulloch County.
Survivors are four sons, O. B. Allen, Pooler; Clites V. Allen, Statesboro; Casey Allen, Charleston, S.C.; and Knowlton Allen, Yuba City, Calif.; two daughters, Miss Aileen Allen and Mrs. Dolly Lee, Savannah; a brother, William Allen, Sycamore, S.C.; ten grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Allen were held Thursday afternoon at 3:30, from the Brooklet Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kent L. Gillenwater conducting the services. Burial was in the Brooklet Cemetery. The body remained at the chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary, Statesboro, until time for the funeral.
