Margaret was one of eight children born to parents William and Emma (Claymon) Decker. The family farmed in Iroquois County, Illinois. Sometime between 1900 and 1910 the family came by train from Ashkum, Illinois to Spokane County, Washington.

Margaret married Albert Turey Johnson on June 30, 1915 in Spokane, Washington. They had six children: Leonard; Edwin; Edith; Oliver; Joyce; Charles. The marriage ended in divorce before 1941.

Margaret had a boyfriend she was serious about in the late 1930's to early 1940's named Bernard Theodore Steinhoff, but there is no indication they ever married.

Margaret went on to marry Emil J. Bockman on April 9, 1943 in Spokane, but this only lasted about two years then Emil went back to his first wife and remarried her in 1946.

Margaret married Charles Edward Noe on August 12, 1950 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and divorced him Sep 1951. She and William F. Rupnow were a couple for a while, but it is doubtful they married as no data to confirm this has been found.

Margaret married Claude Franklin Tiffany May 27, 1957 in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Margaret was a very active person, always on the move, and very much interested in eating only healthy foods. She died of complications from a stroke. She was cremated before burial.
