Parents of Katie Maude Pierce Campbell were Samuel Vinton Pierce and Clara Isadore Guss. She had five other siblings, all brothers. Her brothers were Clarence Vinton, Samuel Harvey, Frank Bird, Prince Rupert, and James Prescott. She had two other sibling who died as infants.

She was married for a very short time to William D Hobine and had one son, Samuel Vinton Hobine, who was later legally adopted by Charles Henry Campbell.
