Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8, 2010 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton for Peggie Bearb, age 66, the former Peggie Roger, who passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at her residence in Cankton.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Henry J. Broussard, pastor of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Charlotte Jagneaux, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be Amazing Grace, Here I Am Lord, The Old Rugged Cross, Just A Closer Walk With Thee, and Hail Mary Gentle Woman.
Mrs. Bearb was a native and a resident of Cankton for most of her life. She was loved by all of her family and friends. She was always filled with prayer for anyone who needed it. Mrs. Bearb was a parishioner of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Cankton and was very devoted to the church as well as the rosary.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Rodney Bearb, of Cankton; one brother, Norwood Roger and his wife, Betty Bearb, of Cankton; two sisters, Shirleen Roger Savoy and her husband, Hilton, and Judy Leger and her husband, Emery, all of Bristol; four sisters-in-law, Emma Lou "Favorite" Veazey of Carencro, Roberta Alleman, Eugenia Bearb and her husband, Russell, all of Bristol and Betty Hidalgo Roger of Cankton; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tackler Roger and the former Andria Dugas; and brother, Aaron Roger.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Alleman, Spencer Leger, Kavin Savoy, Dwayne Savoy, Damien Cormier and Chad Roger. Honorary pallbearers will be Victorian Bearb and Pap LeBlanc.
Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
