INEZ STRICKLAND POPWELL
February 12, 1918 - August 16, 2013

Nahunta - Inez Lee Strickland Popwell was born Feb. 12, 1918 in Brantley County Community of Hortense.
Her parents were William Bill Strickland and Lottie Pearl Anderson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Clinton O. Popwell and several brothers and sisters.

She was a volunteer for The Cancer Society, a Pink Lady at Brunswick Memorial Hospital and Sears Nursing Home. She loved bowling and bowled with the Brantley County Team in Brunswick for many years.
She was a graduate of Nahunta High School, class of 1937. She was a member of Satilla Baptist Church as a young girl, and later a member of Little Memorial Baptist Church, where she shared many good Homecomings with her church family.

She is survived by two daughters and a spouse, Donna & Wayne Causey, of Hortense, Gloria Sears of Nahunta & the late Claude Joe Sears; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth & Priscilla Popwell, Jerry & Daphne Popwell, of Hortense, and Chris Popwell, of Gardi; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Denise S & Dan Moody, Dara Sears, Michael & Pam Popwell, Michelle & Eddie Lynn, Kristie & Michael Weber, Candace Popwell, Phillip Popwell, Mark Popwell, Amy Lee, and Jessica Lee; 7 great grandchildren, David & Ashton Popwell, Zane Sears Moody, Tyler Popwell, Grayson Lee, Devon Washington, Elise Weber, Mollie Lynn. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday (August 18, 2013) at 3PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Harris and Bishop Raymond Willis officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Satilla Cemetery, Hortense.

Pallbearers will be Joe Douberly, Richard Douberly, Donald Douberly, Ralph Douberly, Clarence Douberly, and Wendell Douberly.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
