Leath Clark Stratton-Ross

Leath Clark Stratton-Ross, age 89, passed away Monday October 4, 2010 in Orem, Utah, from a short illness. Born on July 19, 1921 in Lehi, Utah, to James and Armitta Peterson Clark, she was the youngest of 11 children. Growing up she was frequently found riding bareback on her favorite horse, "Buck."
She met Oliver R Stratton of St. George, Utah, while attending BYU and they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 20, 1940. They spent most of their 35 wonderful years together raising their family in Orem. Oliver passed away in 1976.
Leath worked in food services for Alpine School District and was district manager when she retired.
A childhood friend and sweetheart, LeR Ross, reconnected with Leath after the death of his first wife. They were married for time in the Mt Timpanogos LDS Temple in 2001, and have enjoyed being together the past 9 years.
Leath is survived by her husband, LeR Ross; her children Cheryl (Floyd) Pickering, Gloria Stratton, Robert (Andrea) Stratton and Ken (Kris) Stratton; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn (Hal) Scott.
Leath's legacy is her capacity to love. Throughout life she easily made friends. She loved everyone and they loved her. That love was especially evident with her family. She had the ability to make each one feel special.
She was faithful to her LDS beliefs and served others throughout her life.
The family gives thanks to the caregivers at Love Health Care and Timpanogos Hospital for their excellent care.
Viewings for family and friends will be held Friday, October 8, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 E 800 N, Orem and Saturday morning, October 9th, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Sharon Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 200 E 200 N, Orem. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery
