Mrs. John Daren died at her home on South Burdick street in Kalamazoo at 4:30 Monday morning after weeks of suffering. Funeral services were held at her late home at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. Koolker, and the remains were interred in Mountain Home cemetery at this place Wednesday. Mary A. Derhammer was born in Summit county, Ohio, Sept. 8th, 1851. She came to Michigan with her parents 36 years ago, locating in the township of Wakeshma, Kalamazoo county. At the age of 20 she was united in marriage to John E. Doran. From this union four children were born, Claude A., Hazel D., Sadie A., and Leila R. the two former preceding her to the spirit home. Besides the two daughters and husband there is a mother, Mrs. Angeline Derhammer of this place, five brothers - Jacob J. of Kalamazoo; J. F. of Lansing; J. H. and H. C. of Otsego and E. C. of South Haven and one sister, Mrs. H. F. Snook of Kalamazoo. For over 30 years she was a member of the Reformed church and was a consciencious christian - a good wife and excellent mother. There were a profusion of flowers at the funeral, sent by sympathizing friends. John Doran and two daughters, and Jacob Derhammer of Kalamazoo; Joseph F. Derhammer, wife, son and daughter of Lansing and Ephriam Derhammer of South Haven were here to attend the burial yesterday.
