JAMES S. BANISTER
James S. Banister, son of Levi and Minerva Banister, was born December 25, 1873, and passed away February 20, 1965, at the age of 92 years.
He was born in Monroe county, Iowa and spent most of his life in Lucas county. He was married to Grace Ratliff on Feb. 25, 1916. He was engaged in farming for the major portion of his life.
Preceding him in death were his wife, two brothers, five sisters, one son, one step-son, and one step-daughter.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Charlie Samson, Sr., of Prairie City and Mrs. Byron Lovell, of Denver, Colo.; one son, Donald Banister, of Brimson, Mo.; one step-son, William Ratliff, of Lucas; one step-daughter, Mrs. Floyd Smith of Burlington; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at the Miley Chapel Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. William Osick officiating. Interment was at the Fry Hill cemetery.
