GRACE ANN BANISTER
Grace Ann Banister, daughter of Frank and Dora Belle Burrell, was born Aug. 1, 1883 in Monroe county and passed away at the University hospital in Iowa City Feb. 17, 1959, at the age of 73 years, six months and 16 days.
She was united in marriage in January, 1906, to Victor Ratliff, who passed away in 1913. To this union were born four children: William of Lucas and Lorene Smith of Burlington, also Ernest, and Irene Crooks, who preceded her in death.
On Feb. 25, 1916, she was married to James Banister. Four children were born to this union: Leonard, who died in infancy, Marcella Samson of Prairie City, Donald of Princeton, Mo., and Dora Belle Lovell of Golden, Colo.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, five children, 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three sisters, Esta Best of Royal Oak, Mich., Edyth Gueldenhaar and Mary Wagner of Burlington and one brother, Tom Burrell of Burlington, Kansas.
One brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
She also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Miley Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank R. Waters of Knoxville officating. Interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
