MRS. MINERVA BANISTER
Mrs. Minerva Jane Banister died at her home south of Russell, Iowa in Washington township, on Wednesday evening, September 30th, 1914, at the age of sixty-nine years, one month and sixteen days.
She was born near Quincy, Ill., on August 14th, 1845, where she spent her girlhood days, and moved from there to Monroe county, Iowa, while yet in her girlhood.
Here she met and married Mr. Levi Banister in the year 1861. Nine children, four sons and five daughters, were born to them, all of whom, excepting one son who died in infancy, are left to share with their father the deep sorrow, incident to their great loss in her death.
The funeral was conducted from the family residence on Friday afternoon by Rev. S. Skogsberg, of the United Evangelical church, and her remains were taken to the LaGrange cemetery for interment.
Mrs. Banister was a good woman, a kind and devoted wife and mother, an esteemed neighbor and above all, a Christian. She will be missed in the community, but more particularly from the now vacant place in the home, which she filled so well.
