As a small child she came with her parents, the Elias Bengtsons, to Omro Township, Yellow medicine County where she was raised. She was confirmed in the Mission Covenant Church in the class conducted by Rev. O. W. Carlson in the year 1900.
On March 10, 1905 in Omro Township, she was united in marriage with Mr. Axel Carlson. This union was blessed with four children; two sons, Adolph and Fingal, both of Dawson, and two daughters, Edith (Mrs. Hjalmer Anderson) of Dawson and Hildur (Mrs. Algot Knutson) of Amery, Wisconsin. A niece, Violet Bengtson, now Mrs. Burton Bredeson of Montevideo, was taken into this home at five days of age and raised as a member of the family. These children were all present at the service.
