ANOTHER LAID AWAY
A. H. SATER, VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR, BURIED
LARGE NUMBER OF RELATIVES, FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS ATTENDED FINAL TRIBUTE TO A GOOD MAN--INTERMENT AT FOREST HOME.

The funeral of Mrs. Aaron Sater took place from the family residence 307 South Locust street, Friday afternoon at three o'clock. There was a large number of relatives and friends present, the G. A. R. and W. R. C. being present in a body. The services were conducted by Dr. Osborn, pastor of the First Methodist church assisted by Rev. J. J. Payseur, pastor of the Christian church. The special music was furnished by a quartette from the choir of the Methodist church. After the regular service the old soldiers of the Grand Army gave their beautiful ritual service for the dead at the house. Formerly this service was given at the grave, but the old veterans are getting few in number and old and have been obliged to give up the usual march out to Forest Home, so the service of the Grand Army for a dead comrade is now given at the house. After the service was concluded the casket was borne from the house by six nephews, Ernest, Harvey and Walter Shepp, Harry and Gilbert Poucher and Frank McMillan and taken to Forest Home cemetery for interment.
Mr. Sater was born in Crawfordsville, Ind., May 17, 1837, and died at his home in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, September 15, 1915. He was a member of the 86th Indiana Volunteer infantry, Co.,K in the Civil War, coming to Mt. Pleasant immediately after the war in 1865.
He was married December 25, 1866 to Miss Eliza Poucher of this city and to them three children were born, one daughter, dying in infancy, and two sons remaining with the devoted wife to cherish the memory of a kind and loving husband and father. The children are Edgar of Rock Island, Ill., and Frank of this city. Mr. Sater became a member of the First Methodist church in 1846.
