Services Held Thursday for Lucy Cooper
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon Thursday) at Haverly Mortuary for Lucy Cooper,78, a resdient of Route 3, Mitchell. Rev. Barney Stephens officiated, and burial was in Sheeks Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper passed away at 5:30 p.m., Monday, April 17, at Bedford Medical Center in Beford.
She was born Dec. 20, 1893, in Orange County to Isaac and Susan Hall Phillips. On Aug. 9, 1917, she was united in marriage to Leslie Cooper, and he preceded her in death Sept. 1, 1970.
Surviving are one son, Winfred Cooper of Mitchell; three daughters, Mrs. John (Lucy) Lynch, Mrs. James (Violet) Karr, and Mrs. Charles (Kathryn) Hedrick, all of Mitchell; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Three children, six brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the First Christian Church in Mitchell.
