Cassie was born at Farrans Point which was one of the communities flooded to make the St. Lawrence Seaway. Her parents were Alexander Artindale & Sarah Donnelly. She & Gilbert lived just around the corner from Gilbert's parents where she remained after his death. They were very close. She never remarried but worked to keep her family together.
