Blonda Thweatt, 14, Dies Tuesday of Spinal Meningitis
Blanda Merelee Thweatt, older daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W A Thweatt, died Tuesday morning at the residence following a four –day illness of spinal meningitis. She was 14.
She was a freshman at Houston High School, and attended school last Thursday to take exams and was seemingly in good health.
Stricken late Friday night and never regained consciousness.
Funeral services and burial were held yesterday afternoon at Wesley Chapel cemetery, with the Rev. W C Stewart, pastor of the Houston Baptist Church, officiating.
Born in Paducah, Ky., she moved with her parents to Houston when a small child.
Blonda joined Houston Baptist Church several years ago, and was active in Sunday School, the BYPU, and the Intermediate GA's.
Surviving, besides her parents, are two brothers, W A, Jr. and Cecil, and a sister, Julia Ann, all of Houston, and several half brothers, and sisters.
