Mother of Local Man is Interred in N. Mississippi

Local friends are extending sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Bickerstaff in the death of Mr. Bickerstaff's mother, Mrs. W. A. Thweatt, on Friday, January 11, in Houston.

Mrs. Thweatt succumbed at her home there after an illness of three months. She was a native of Ballardsville, but had made her home at Houston for many years. She was an active member of the Houston Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held from the Houston Baptist Church at two o'clock Friday, January 12, with the Rev. Mr. Watson, pastor, in charge, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Day of Plantersville. Interment was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery at Houston.

Survivors include her husband, W. A. Thweatt, one daughter, Miss Julia Ann Thweatt of Houston; three sons, W. A. Thweatt, Jr. of Memphis; Cecil Thweatt fo Camp McCoy, Wis., and Quinton Bickerstaff of Columbia; her father, W. D. Francis and one brother, H. G. Francis, of Plantersville; and several stepchildren.

Services for Mrs. W A Thweatt, 49, who died at her home here early Friday morning, after several weeks illness, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Houston First Baptist Church. The Rev. William G Watson, pastor, officiated.

Interment was in Wesley Chapel cemetery. Houston Funeral Home was in charge.

Mrs. Thweatt was born in Ballardsville, Miss., and was a member of the Houston First Baptist Church. She had made her home here for many years.

She leaves one daughter, Miss Julia Ann Thweatt of Tupelo, Miss.; three sons, Q D Bickerstaff of Columbia, Miss.; W A Thweatt, Jr., of Memphis, Tenn., and S-Sgt. Cecil F Thweatt, of Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her father, Dee Francis of Plantersville, Miss.; one brother, Howard Francis of Plantersville; two step daughters, Mrs. Clara Lambert and Mrs. Euple Estes of Paducah, Ky., and two step sons, Euclid Thweatt of Cleveland, Ohio, and Carl Thweatt of Dallas, Texas.

Pallbearers were: Robert Goza, Pete Nichols, Edward Young, D M Blanton, Carlton Stafford and William Smith, Jr.
