Services Held For W A Thweatt, 77

Services for William Albert Thweatt, Sr., 77, retired laundry operator, who died Sunday, April 27, at 3:30 am, at the Baptist Hospital, Jackson, Tenn., of a heart ailment, were conducted from the Houston Funeral Home at 10 am, Tuesday.

Charles E Bland, minister of the Houston Church of Christ, officiated. Interment was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Houston Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were: Robert Goza, Bennett Blanton, bill Smith, II, Lockhart Childress, Willie Foster, R E Dendy, H D Hambree and Curtis Crosthwait. Honorary pallbearers were: Rosco Smith, G G Crushman, Bill Smith, III, Albert Horn, Marlin Blanton, Shellie Oswalt, Oris Lancaster, and Jimmy Finn.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Meralee Francis Thweatt; four sons, Euclid of Cleveland, Ohio, Carl of Dallas, Tex., W A, Jr., of Verona and Cecil F., of Starkville; three daughters, Mrs. Euple Shelby and Mrs. Clara Lambert, both of Paducah, Ky., and Mrs. Max Kenney of Tupelo; a brother, Leonas Thweatt of Benton, Ky., and 15 grandchildren. All of his children were by his first wife, Mrs. Jenna Criddle Thweatt, who died a few years ago.

Mr. Thweatt was born March 21, 1881 in Marshall county, Ky., the son of Levi Thweatt and Julia Ann Blagg Thweatt.
