MRS. IDA NEAL AUSTIN DIED HERE YESTERDAY
Mrs. Ida Neal Austin, age 68, widow of the late J. D. Austin, died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Presbyterian hospital, following an illness of three weeks. She had been in ill health for the past year, and underwent an operation three weeks ago. Mrs. Austin was a charter member of Caldwell Memorial church, and had been active in religious work her entire life.
Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the residence, 900 East Fourth street, Rev. G. F. Bell, assisted by Rev. W. W. Orr, officiating. J. O. Ross, W. E. Price, Will Stancill, J. A. Biskett, C. J. Rock and L. A. Puckett will act as pall bearers.
Mrs. Austin is survived by two sons, L. W. Austin and T. E. Austin; five daughters, Mrs. F. A. Sawyer, Mrs. J. W. Garrett, Mrs. J. G. Spurrier, Mrs. J. W. Ray and Miss Ida Belle Austin, all of Charlotte; and one sister, Mrs. S. H. Garrison of Statesville.
