Funeral services for Thomas Edgar Austin, 67, president of Austin Electric Co. of Charlotte, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 P. M. at Harry & Bryant Chapel in the Oaks.
Dr. Warner L. Hall, pastor of the Second Church Branch of Covenant Presbyterian Church, will officiate and interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Austin died yesterday morning at his home, 734 Berkley Ave. He was born in Charlotte Sept. 22, 1883, the son of the late John D. and Ida Neal Austin.
Mr. Austin had lived most of his life in Charlotte. He was prominent in religious and fraternal organizations and was a member of the Second Church Branch of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Scottish Rites bodies, the Excelsior Lodge since 1905 and the Red Fez Club. He was also a member of the Azusa Grotto and the Good Fellows Club.
He is survived by his wife, Lulu B. Austin; two daughters, Mrs. John W. Gustafson of Charlotte and Mrs. Peter A. Dickey of San Marino, Calif.; a son, H. E. Austin of Charlotte; three sisters, Mrs. Jesse W. Garrett, Mrs. J. Graham Spurrier and Mrs. John W. Ray, all of Charlotte; a sister-in-law, Mrs. L. W. Austin; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
