7 Feb 1913 - Shenandoah Sentinal Post - OBITUARY:
"NORWICH, IOWA - Seldom do we have in record a death that combines so many sad features as that of Mrs. Walter Lingo, whose death occurred Feb. 3, 1913 at 5 a.m.
Twin babies were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lingo on January 15, and mother and babies seemed to be progressing so favorably, while Mrs. Lingo did not seem to be so well; her physician was summoned and all that mortal hands could do seemed to be of no avail; her sufferings were intense and she fought a brave fight to live and raise her family.
Bartie Ann Dennis was born on June 22, 1878, near Villisca, Iowa; was the oldest child of Elmer Dennis and wife now residing in Villisca. She was a devoted member of the Methodist church, becoming a member at the age of thirteen and availed herself of every opportunity to attend the means of grace; was a teacher in the Sunday school and her greatest hope was to have a christian family.
She was a graduate of the Villisca high school and continued her studies at the state university at Iowa City; was a successful teacher for a number of years and took a delight in teaching her children.
She was married to Walter Lingo at her parent's home in Villisca on November 26, 1901. To this union five children were born, Samuel Elmer aged ten, Sedley Martin aged six, Alice Elizabeth aged four and the babies, Walter Forrest and Florence Ann, who were the delight of the household and the dearest hope of their mother was to live and raise her babies. Funeral services were held Wednesday, a short service at the home and the sermon preached at the Norwich M. E. church by Rev. Long, an evangelist of the Christian church assisted by her pastor Rev. Van Dyke, and Rev J. B. Bartley. Interment in the Rose Hill cemetery in Shenandoah."
