Robert W. Bell, 78, 1303 Schwaller, died Thursday, Feb 8, 2001, at Hays Medical Center. He was born Aug 5, 1922, in Hays to Leondard and Mary (Bollig) Bell.

He married Adelaide Pfannenstiel on May 11, 1943, in Hays. He and his wife owned and operated a dry cleaning store, and he worked for Travenol before his retirement. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Robert L. Salina, and Keith, Mansfield, Texas; two daughters, Janice Rome, Victoria, and Roberta Roberts, Grand Prairie, Texas; a brother, Leonard H., Hays; two sisters, Mary Louise Nay, Mission Hills, Calif., and Neva Gatschet, Hays; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosie Werth, two brothers, Clarence and Victor, and a sister, Edna Mae Brungardt.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Fathers Don Zimmerman and David Metz officiating, burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, with graveside military rites by the Hays American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 8:45 a.m. Monday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2590 Vine. A parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the church.
