Bath: Cecil C Beane, age 75, died Monday, July 6, 1998 after a brief illness at his daughters residence in West Bath. He was born in Norridgewock on April 20, 1923, the son of walter S. and Alice (Smith) Beane. Mr. Beane Graduated from Belgrade High School in 1941. On January 1, 1943 he entered the United States Army/Aircorp where he served in Italy during World War II and was honorably discharged on October 31, 1945 as a sergeant. On November 17, 1945 he married Virginia A. Cowan in Oakland and worked at the Cascade Woolen Mill in Winslow. On September 4, 1951 they moved to Bath where he became a Warden for the Department of Inland, Fisheries and Game serving in the Bath area until his retirement on October 31, 1971. Mr Beane worked as a carpenter for several years, drove a bus for Simpsons Animal Farm and for the past eight years drove cars for Bill Dodge. Mr Beane attended Grace Episcopal Church in Bath and was a member of the United Lodge #8 A.F. & A.M. in Brunswick and Bath Area Senior Citizens. He was an avid sports fan especially a Red Sox fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Beane of West Bath, his daughter Glenis E. Elliott of West Bath, his son Lee R. Beane of Seguin, Texas, one sister Hazel Bickford of Belgrade and two grandchildren, Emily E. Allen and Jason L. Beane. A Funeral Serice was held at 2 PM Thursday, July 9 at the Funeral Home with Fr John S. Paddock of Grace Episcopal Church officiating.
