"Mrs. George Ordway Dead.
Wife of Former Street Commissioner Dies of heart Disease.

Mrs. Ellen M. Ordway, wife of George B. Ordway, who for many years was street commissioner, died at her home, 609 West State Street at (can't read) _:15 o'clock this morning. Valvular disease of the heart caused the death. Mrs. Ordway has been confined to her bed for two weeks, and during all of that time had been seriously sick, her condition at times being very critical. Mrs. Ordway had been a sufferer with the disease a long time, having been in failing health for about four years.

Mrs. Ordway's maiden name was Ellen M. Bowers. She was born at Billerica, Mass., March 27, 1848. She became the wife of Mr. Ordway at Billerica on June 27, 1869. Very soon after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Ordway went to Lowell, Mass. where they lived for ten years. They came west and settled on a farm near New Providence, where they made their home for fourteen years. In 1893 they moved to this city, where they have since resided.

In additon to the husband one son and two daughters survive Mrs. Ordway. They are Alonzo B. Ordway, of Seattle, Wash: Mrs. Fred Vogel, of Oskaloosa: Miss Mabel Ordway, a teacher in the Arnold school. Mrs. Vogel was here at the time of her mother's death. One brother, Mr. W. B. Bowers of Hudson, Mass, also survives Mrs. Ordway"
