Freddie Fosson Sr
Freddie Fosson Sr, 75, of 420 Wheatley Rd, Westwood; died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Fosson was born March 28, 1901, in Greenup County, a son of the late John H. and Christina Lazaman Fosson. He was a retired foreman in the open hearth at Armco Steel Corp., and was a member of the Armco Veterans Club and the Armco Management Club. He was an ordained Baptist deacon for 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson Fosson; three sons, Charles of Bellefonte, Ralph Fosson of Bellefonte and Freddie Fosson Jr of Westwood; three daughters, Mrs. Chlora Profitt and Mrs. Jack Kelley, both of Westwood and Mrs. Danny Christyna Leroy of Ironton; a sister, Mrs. Tom Justice of Portsmouth; a grandchild whom he reared, Miss Pam Fosson; 20 other grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday at the Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church by the Rev. Wilbur Crace, the Rev. Donald Nash, with Rev. Bernard Lovely and the Rev. Mckinley Newsome. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. The body is at the Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood where friends may call. Active pallbearers will be Charles Fosson Jr., Danny Gene Fosson, Mark Fosson, Fred Fosson III, Scott Fosson and Jack Kelley Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Fosson, Lee Fosson, Steve Kelley, Jimmy Fosson, Larry Fosson, Stephen Fosson, Earl Profitt Jr and David Proffit.
